With his 7th place finish as a junior at the 1990 NCAA National Championships, Scott Kirsch became the first ever wrestler from George Mason to earn All-American honors. Kirsch would go on to qualify for the National Championships again in 1991, but withdrew from the tournament due to injury.
One of the most decorated wrestlers in George Mason history, Kirsch finished his career with 119 victories (2nd all-time) and earned six individual tournament championships.
